The 17th ASTRO-H Design Meeting was held at the Tsukuba Space Center in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture from 18-19 February. Participants included team members for all of the instrument teams as well as Japanese and international researchers. Reports were given on the current status of the development of the instruments that will be on board ASTRO-H. In addition, the schedule going forward for the on-going development of these instruments was confirmed.
At each session detailed reports were given on the progress steadily being made in building these instruments. The details were laid out to help to verify that no mistakes have been made in the assembly of the satellite, and also so that tests could be considered that would help to determine whether the instruments operate smoothly together. Discussions flourished on all of these matters.
